A bit could cause pain for a horse, or the fear of pain, and this may be expressed by fright, flight, fight, freeze or facial neuralgia (the headshaking syndrome).

Russell Guire, Centaur Biomechanics, ‘Gait Analysis’
Small markers are placed on the horse at the centre of the horse’s joints and the movement captured on video at 100 frames a second. Analysis may show areas of imbalance or asymmetry. Watch and learn from an expert in this field of study. 

Joni Bentley, Alexander Technique, ‘Crookedness in Horse and Rider’
The Alexander Technique is a mind-body awareness technique, which releases mental and physical tension whilst improving balance, poise and co-ordination. Learn more about the technique which enables riders to work in harmony with their horses.

Advanced VHT summer course confirmed!

This year's advanced VHT course will be running in Glastonbury, Somerset on Mon 16th - Thurs 19th June.  Please contact the NCC to apply for a booking form.  Cost is £400

Level 3 and Course Dates Confirmed
Level 3 and 4 courses are now confirmed as follows:

  • Sat 21st - Tues 24th June - Level 3, at Hartsop Farm, Witney, Oxon.
  • Sat 21st - Mon 23rd June - Level 4, at Hartsop Farm, Witney, Oxon.
  • Thurs 11th - Sun 14th Sept - Level 3, at ILPH Snetterton, Norfolk
  • Thurs 11th - Sat 13th Sept - Level 4, at ILPH Snetterton, Norfolk

[Please note, due to circumstances beyond our control, there have been some changes to the provisional dates previously published by ETF.]

Level 3 costs £475, Level 4 costs £375. Students repeating either course within 1 year AND who are members of IETA are eligible for a 50% discount on the above course fees.

New Equine Touch level 1 and level 2 DVD's now available.

Jock and Ivana have completed the filming of two DVD's to support the Equine Touch courses. One is an updated Level 1 course and for the first time a brand new accompaniment to Level 2. The DVD's are available to students and practitioners only. Jock is also working on a Passive and Active Mobilization and Stretching DVD to support Equine Touch. DVDs are £16.50 each (£30 for a set of both) plus £1.00 p&p each.
