Hosting a courseIf you are interested in hosting an Equine Touch course, and receiving free tuition in exchange for your organising skills this information will help you to decide whether it is possible.
You may choose the format of the course and suggest suitable dates which the Instructors will try to accommodate. We have found the most successful format to be three consecutive days. You would need to enlist six or more participants (including yourself) and to have access to a location that can provide sufficient horses for students to work on - one horse per student is ideal, plus one horse to act as demonstration throughout the course. A couple of extra horses on standby for the last day are useful, to ensure that horses are not 'overworked'. Students may bring their own horses for all or part of the course if you are able to arrange accommodation for them. Facilities required Stables or an indoor arena are advisable to work in. A covered area, suitable for theory discussions and to set up a couple of massage tables for the human introduction to the moves is also necessary. The Instructors will provide the tables. As the human element is only practiced during the mornings of the first two days, this room may be arranged away from the yard containing the equine subjects, with the lunch break being an appropriate transfer time. If some of the course participants are not local to the venue you need to be able to suggest both B&B accommodation and eating places and during the course itself be able to suggest somewhere to purchase lunches. Refreshments for breaks should be provided. Further information If you are interested in hosting a course in the UK, please contact: Adele Neighbour |
